LOCAL ISLANDER WITH REAL ESTATE EXPERIENCE

I moved to the San Juan Islands as a young child in 1974. Things were a lot different then; it has been an eye-opening experience to watch the San Juan Islands evolve.

We moved to Stuart Island in 1976 and were a part of the re-opening of the local one room schoolhouse. Stuart Island as a child in the seventies was an experience like no other. Growing up here has given me a profound appreciation for the flora and fauna; creatures of land and sea and the history of the PNW; particularly the SJI'S. Visit the Land Bank, Wolf Hollow, the Whale Museum and the Preservation Trust for more reading.

I am a traveler and have enjoyed years living elsewhere; among the places were Oregon, Chicago and Asia.

In Oregon I learned and lived as the rest of America does, in Chicago I got in touch with my families roots and experienced a fresh body of water, Lake Michagan. And in Asia, I taught English and met my husband, Jonathan Hu.

We returned to Friday Harbor and started a family of our own. We have two wonderful daughters who are now enjoying their own San Juan experience; it brings me great pleasure to be able to give them that.

One thing I wanted to do upon my return to the states was finish what I started at Washington State Univ. some years before; I was the first person to graduate with a BA in SJ County via WSU's distance degree program, also see Skagit Valley Community College/San Juan Center.

Then I pursued Real Estate. Initially working as Lisa's assistant and now off and running. Lisa and I enjoy a very symbiotic relationship. It has proven to be a great fit; I love my work and the people I work with. Never a dull moment, as they say. Each transaction is an adventure of its own, no two alike. Everyone I have had the pleasure of working with has been great. I look forward to many more.
